Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. She has been praised for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, including an Oscar for the movie Piano. At a young age, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. Since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one of her ear, however this was not enough to stop the actress from fulfilling her dream. While in college, she studied drama and moving to New York City with her plans with her sights set. After a casual encounter, she was stuck in an elevator alongside the playwright Beth Henley and the two worked together on the Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which was Hunter's first performance. Following her move from Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered a supporting role in Swing Shift. In the years since, she has been in numerous films and TV movies and series over a career spanning more than three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
